APPEA 2004: PCT rolls out risk and verification service

PCT Engineers has delivered quality independent specialist services since 1987 to support process industries and their stakeholders by specifying, designing, maintaining and supporting more dependable investments. PCT specialises in integrated process, production and safety-related business and engineering services.

Having experienced significant growth by way of size and services over the past four years, PCT has also grown its geographical presence within Australia, with three state offices - Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide, this has been done primarily to meet existing client demands.

PCT's Mark Sawyer said "In line with world trends, good corporate governance and sound business and engineering practice have led industry leaders to use competent and impartial third party resources to identify potential technical and operational risks and contribute to their minimisation through sound technical advice".

In line with these changes PCT is now being asked to deliver a wide range of risk management and independent verification and validation services. These services are delivered through PCT's Process Reliability and Integrity (PRI) group, headed up by Paul Birighitti. Birighitti stated that "these services aim to maximise investment potential and minimise lifecycle risk".

PCT's clients include operating companies, financing and investment institutions, Commonwealth, State and Local government authorities and regulators, design and construction contractors, insurance organisations and certifying bodies.

Its expertise and activities covers business processes, engineering assets, management systems and the assurance of dependable production systems in the resource and infrastructure sectors.
