Despite failing to reach an understanding during the LNG 14 conference in Doha, Faisal al-Suwaidi, Qatargas' vice-chairman and managing director, said a resolution was expected in the next few weeks.
"The companies were almost there and now the stumbling blocks are very small and not a showstopper," added Faisal.
Should the deal go through, Total will join a third Qatargas-2 train sized at 7.5 million tons per year and export the output to the US and Europe.
