More US investment in Pakistan coming

Led by former Virginia governor James Gilmore III, the delegation made up of leading businessmen – from the IT, trading and shipping sectors – will seek out potential businesses for American businesses to invest in.

One such investment, according to the association, is the Indus Oil Refinery, which would be set up in Karachi with a US$85 million investment. Around 200 acres of land in the Port Qasim area has been identified as the possible site for the plant and the Opic and Exim Bank have shown an interest in financing project.

PABA is also looking into investing in a paraxylene plant, CNG stations, ship-breaking, ship building and the setting up of a shipping line in Pakistan.
