According to Pakistani finance minister, Shaukat Aziz, “It [is] significant to note that the Peoples’ Republic of China have reposed confidence in Pakistan’s economic performance and have offered concessional financing on attractive terms in addition to the suppliers’ credit for construction of Chashma Nuclear Power Plant II.”

“Pakistan [will] benefit from Chinese expertise in peaceful use of nuclear technology, as the government wants to diversify its energy resources to meet the growing demand of consumers and industry,” said Shaukat.

“Pakistan [will] continue to seek Chinese co-operation and increase bilateral co-operation between the two countries,” added the minister.
