In a speech in Missouri the Presidential candidate said he would channel around US$20 billion from oil and gas royalties into developing alternative fuels and technologies, with an added lofty goal of 20% of all US vehicle fuel being from domestic sources such as ethanol by 2020.
Car makers and drivers will both be offered tax credits for producing and buying more fuel efficient vehicles with $10 billion being offered to the manufacturers and up to $5000 for customers investing in low pollution cars.
