This is Lloyd's Register first FPSO course in Australia and it is also the first time LR has run a joint workshop with the University of Western Australia.
This two day workshop (13-14 October) presents key aspects of design, safety and operational considerations for FPSOs. The course will cover topics from initial project inception of field development planning to concept selection and the design of floating production and storage systems. It will highlight the safety and integrity considerations that need to be incorporated into early design to provide functionality and reliability.
Using an international panel of speakers - experts in their respective fields - the workshop will highlight worldwide best practice that will enable engineers, designers and managers to maximise utilisation of their offshore field and production assets.
There will be plenty of opportunity for delegates to raise questions and discuss issues and at the end of the first day there will be a question and answer session with the panel of speakers. The second day will end with an informal reception.
The organisers say to book early as the workshop is limited to 40 places to facilitate the interactive approach of the sessions. It is being held in the Faculty of Education Building, University of Western Australia, Crawley.
