The successful team is holding a premium wine tasting night in Perth next week and are inviting all and sundry to tear the top off some brown paper bags for a worthy cause.
For $25 per head guests will enjoy very generous tastings of eight wines and a sumptuous selection of gourmet finger foods. The Donkeys guarantee guests will not go home hungry as some of them have significant waistlines to support.
The Donkeys say 100% of the profits will be donated to the Variety Club.
The wine list includes Tim Adams 2003 Riesling, Stella Bella 2003 Sauvignon Blanc, Rosily Vineyard 2003 Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, Trentham Estate 2003 Chardonnay, Charles Melton 2003 Rose of Virginia, Bowen Estate 2001 Cab-Merlot-Cab-Franc, Rosily Vineyard 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon, Tim Adams 2002 Shiraz, Bowen Estate 2001 Shiraz, and Fox Creek ‘The Vixen’ Sparkling Shiraz.
All are being sold on the night at specially discounted “Donkey” prices.
The Nodding Donkeys say they have raised over $100,000 in the eight years they have participated in the event, which raises much needed funds for Princess Margaret Hospital.
The Nodding Donkey’s are led (astray) by stalwarts Richard Clark, Ken Cheney, Ian Widdicombe and Ivan Bristow. New Donkey Peter Billan (a former McDermott project beancounter) will join the team for the first time.
