Christmas trees for Genghis Khan

VETCO Gray has been awarded a contract by Anadarko Petroleum Corporation to supply 15,000psi subsea trees for the deep-water Genghis Khan oil field in the Gulf of Mexico.

Located in Green Canyon Block 652, the Genghis Khan field is scheduled for first production in 2006 through a subsea tieback to the Marco Polo platform.

The US$6m contract covers the supply of two high-pressure (15,000psi rated) subsea horizontal trees systems, as well as complete field service and installation support.

Vetco Gray also supplied the exploration wellheads and tubulars for the initial discovery well and will be supplying the same equipment for the second well.
