AWE JV spuds next Java well

AN INDONESIAN joint venture involving Australian Worldwide Exploration has spudded the next well in its drilling program, Lengo-1, in the Bulu production sharing contract in the Java Sea.

Spudded on Saturday, Lengo-1 had this morning reached a depth of 316m, where the first casing point was being installed. The well has a planned total depth of 995m, AWE said.

The previous well in the program, Lisah-1, was plugged and abandoned last month as a duster.

Participants in the Bulu production sharing contract are: Aabar Petroleum Investments Company PJSC (operator) 42.5%, AWE 42.5%, PT Satria Energindo 10% and PT Satria Wijaya Kusuma 5%.
