CSM-LNG: having many wells reduces risk

"OBVIOUSLY, Slugcatcher has very little experience in risk assessment on sparing," writes PNN reader Drew Sage in regard to this week's Slugcatcher column, "Coal gas LNG? Bah, humbug!"

CSM may require 100 wells so if you lose one to maintenance then you've lost 1% of your production. A normal large scale LNG system may only require 10 wells but now if you lose one well then you've lost 10% of your production.

The availability for CSM wells will probably exceed the design availability for the LNG plant.

The main problem with CSM has always been the low flow rate per well, however for availability, this works in your favour.
