Blocked pipeline delays production: Petsec

PRODUCTION from Petsec Energy's Main Pass 270 field in the Gulf of Mexico has been temporarily suspended due to maintenance in a production pipeline, the company announced today.

Blocked pipeline delays production: Petsec

Petsec said the Main Pass 270 has been shut in since April 19 due to a blockage in the pipeline clogging the flow of oil and condensate.

The company initially expected the blockage would be removed fairly quickly but said the pipeline operator has been working diligently to resolve the problem.

The operator is injecting acid into the pipeline through hot taps in an attempt to dissolve the blockage, Petsec said.

The pipeline is used by Petsec and other producers to transport the condensate produced from various leases in the area.

Prior to the blockage, daily net production from Main Pass 270 was about 4700 million cubic feet and 120 barrels of oil.

Petsec has a 25% working interest in the Main Pass 270 Field.
