The captain and engineer of Edison Chouest Offshore's 67m C-Retriever vessel were picked up by the US government but it is unclear whether a ransom was paid or not.
''We welcome the release of the two US citizens who were kidnapped from the M/V C-Retriever," a US State Department official told Reuters.
"For privacy reasons, we will not provide any additional information."
The kidnapping took place on October 23 with the vessel reportedly enroute to Chevron's Agbami oil field.
About 15 pirate attacks have reportedly occurred within a 40km radius of the Agbami platform this calendar year.
