Bibby adds to ROV fleet

REMOTE interventions company Bibby has scored a multi-million pound contract with Olympic Shipping to install two 110 kilowatt deepwater Quasar ROVs on the company's construction support vessel, Olympic Ares.

The two ROVS will be installed in purpose-built ROV hangers aboard the Ares for ROV and survey purposes.

The deal represents a major boom period for Bibby as market demand for ROVs increases, especially in the oil and gas sector. This has seen the company being awarded major contracts.

The Olympic deal follows a charter agreement between the two companies for the Olympic Ares seasonal charter in 2014, with Bibby scheduled to install the ROVs before the end of year with a plan to jointly market the vessel up until the charter agreement begins.
