LDD wins jacket job

LDD has won the job of providing a specialist foundation installation program as part of the Etam...

The work includes drilling, grouting, lifting and handling.

For the jacket installation, LDD is working with EMAS AMC to install four 48-inch outside diameter piles for each jacket.

Each pile will be 140m long, including a penetration of about 50m below the mud line.

The piles will be inserted into sockets drilled below the pile at each leg using 54-inch diameter underreaming drill bits.

LDD will use its LD2500 drill and associated downhole equipment and provide a range of grouting equipment, including stingers and reusable pile bungs.

The lifting and handling aspect of the project will be carried out by LDD's sister company LM Handling.
