Exxon makes US gains

EXXONMOBIL has conducted a land swap with LINN Energy, adding 26,000 acres to subsidiary XTO Energy's leases in exchange for a portion of XTO's interest in the Hugoton gas field.

A majority of the acquired acreage is located in the Midland Basin, boosting XTO's presence there to 300,000 net acres. The acreage is most prospective for horizontal Wolfcamp and Spraberry development....
