A "DIFFICULT transaction" between Range Resources and International Petroleum looks like it could be coming to a conclusion, with the latter receiving approval from its shareholders to sell off its Russian assets and issue shares to Range to settle a loan.
A proposed merger of the two companies last year led to Range lending $US8 million ($A8.6 million) to International Petroleum under a $A15 million loan agreement.
