AFTER another disappointing quarterly loss, this time $US2.2 billion, the executive chairman of leading American independent oiler Anadarko Petroleum has glumly concluded that there's little point in expanding its operations beyond its existing oil fields, because with oil prices stubbornly low there is little incentive to do so.
