Santos, Cue P&A Indonesian well

THE Dukuh-1 exploration well in the Sampang Production Sharing Contract area, offshore East Java, Indonesia is being plugged and abandoned after failing to encounter significant hydrocarbons, junior partner Cue Energy Resources said yesterday.

The well tested a four-way dip closure 10km south of the Jeruk oil discovery.

The Ocean Sovereign jackup drilling rig will now move to the Herbras-1 exploration well in the eastern portion of the PSC area.

While the Sampang PSC also contains the Jeruk discovery, interests in the Jeruk block are diferent from those elsewhere in the permit.

Participants in the Sampang PSC are operator Santos, which holds a 40.5% stake, Singapore Petroleum Sampang (36%), Cue Sampang (13.5%) and PT Petrogas Oyong Jatim (10%).
