Harriet JV signs gas supply contract with Burrup Fertilisers

The Harriet Joint Venture has entered into a gas supply contract with Burrup Fertilisers (BFPL) for its proposed ammonia plant to be constructed on the Burrup Peninsula in Dampier, Western Australia.

The contract has been negotiated pursuant to the Memorandum of Understanding between the Harriet Joint Venture and BFPL announced late last year.

The plant will require gas at a rate of around 80 terajoules per day for 25 years (around 700 petajoules), with the output being exported to India to be used in the manufacture of fertiliser. Commissioning of the plant is planned by mid 2004.
