Amadeus drills ahead at Raccoon Bend

AMADEUS has had mixed news from its Raccoon Bend prospect in Texas. The operator plans to boost p...

After almost two months of production Wilson-24 is producing an average of 29 bopd and 3bwpd from a three-foot thick zone of sand between 4,070-4,073 feet.

The operator intends to add the interval from 3,922-3,943 feet for production, which should increase production in this well to 110-120 bopd, according to Amadeus.

Preliminary analysis at Wilson-24 showed five separate pay zones, totalling 68 feet of net pay with extremely good porosity and permeability, which the company said should be indicative of large reserves. So there should be scope for further ramping of production.

But the Wilkinson-1, which reached target depth on 21 January, encountered the objective Gutowsky sand at the anticipated depth, but it was found to be non-productive. The sand was 40 feet thick and had a show in the top two feet.

The well will be plugged and abandoned. The drill rig was moved to the next location in the drilling program – Wilson-25 well.

Wilson 25 was spudded on 23 January and had progressed to a depth of 865 feet as at 25 January drilling to a target depth of 3,950 feet. This is the seventh well to be spudded on the Raccoon Bend prospect.

To date, six wells have been drilled to target depth on the Raccoon Bend prospect area, with four successful wells completed. The 32-well drilling program will continue to run over over the next 12 months.

Amadeus has a 60.5% working interest in Raccoon bend. The operator is TNT Engineering Inc.
