Donga to be cased and suspended as producer

ATP 805P partners Oilex, Bow Energy and Victoria Petroleum have announced that the Donga-3 well will be cased and suspended as a future oil producer.

Preliminary evaluation of wireline logs and drill stem test results have confirmed the presence of at least two meters of net oil pay in the basal Moolayember Sandstone with the possibility of oil-saturated sands beneath this pay zone.

The well is at total depth of 1630 meters and operator Oilex is currently completing wireline logging.

During an eight-hour flow test through a 3/8 inch choke and a 16 hour shut-in period, the test string circulated four barrels (oil equivalent) of heavy hydrocarbon gas, 23 barrels of light crude oil, three barrels of mud-contaminated oil and 39 barrels of formation water, Oilex has reported.

The partners have previously said the seismic-interpreted structure contained a potential three million barrels of oil.

Donga-3 is located in ATP 805P Surat Basin, Queensland.

Participants in ATP 805P Block, Donga-3 well are: Oilex NL (operator and 42.5%), Bow Energy Ltd (42.5%) and Victoria Petroleum NL (15%). Oilex is currently acquiring additional equity from Bow, while VicPet is acquiring a 7.5% interest from both companies.
