SPEAKING to Energy News last week after his presentation at the Australian Financial Review’s energy summit Australian Industrial Energy CEO James Baulderstone said a pipeline wasn’t economic, and that US LNG would change everything.

He added that lifting the onshore moratoria that so infuriates explorers, the Federal government and petroleum lobby body APPEA wouldn't do much to address shorter term supply concerns. 
 
A west-east pipeline is still the subject of a government pre-feasability study but is estiated to cost around $5 billion.
