ESG said it was also about to lodge a 21 year production licence for the field, having achieved independent reserves and local Council development approval.

The customer, Country Energy, is planning a 10MW station in Narrabri, and said it was able to increase capacity from the planned 6MW to 10MW without increasing the $10-12 million capex.

The Coonarah field is 20 kilometres from Narrabri and has accredited proven and probable reserves of 11.3 petajoules. The power station is due on line in the 3rd quarter of 2003.
