Cyclone, damage delays Woollybutt first oil

First oil from the Woollybutt oilfield in the Carnarvon Basin is expected to be later this month ...

Intially Woollybutt was supposed to be in production by mid-March but delays with one of the tugs caused an initial delay of a few weeks.

In mid April, Cyclone Inigo caused operations to be suspended before it weakened. Ropes used to pull in the mooring buoy were then found to be damaged which have now been replaced, according to a report by one of the partners, Tap Oil.

Initial production is now expected on 25 April according to the Tap report.

Partners are AGIP (65% - operator), Mobil Australia (20%) and Tap Oil (15%).
