In recent years, Victoria's gas supply, expecially from non-traditional areas of Bass Strait, has been boosted with the discovery and development of the Casino, Minerva, Yolla, Thylacine and Geographe gas fields.

In a keynote address, Theophanous will explain why Victoria is taking a lead on emissions control programs, including investments into clean coal and alternative fuel technologies.

Theophanous will be joined by the CEOs of Victoria’s top tier generation, transmission and distribution companies including SPI PowerNet, Basslink, Powercor, China Light Power and International Power.

The event is being held from February 22-24 at the Crown, Melbourne. Details are available from www..terrapinn.com/2005/vicpower_au
