The Perth-based company said it has fitted all the recently-drilled Carter wells with pumps and tested for initial production.
It has already undertaken a mild acid stimulation program at the lease on the Carter-26 well, which is producing 7 barrels of oil per day.
The company has also reworked the oldest Carter well, which was drilled and has been in production since 1974. Carter-1 is now producing 4bopd.
“This is our longest pay of all the Carter wells so far and confirms the long production history of the Granville formation,” Westralian said.
The company is moving to acidise the 4bopd Carter-24 well and 2-3bopd Carter-3 wells.
“Because of our previous workover success we are going to acid treat this well (Carter-3), which we believe will considerably increase our production,” the company said.
“The company has been issued further drilling permits and we now know that we have consistent production from the Granville formation.”
Westralian added it intends to test the Murfreesboro and Knox formations, which it says has been more productive than the Granville in the past.
“By drilling these new wells we will be able to test all three formations and expect to increase our overall production from our Carter leases,” the company said.
