SINCE South Australia’s state-wide blackout in September, 2016, we have seen ongoing gas supply challenges in Australia.  Primarily, these challenges have been focused on the east coast markets.

Indeed, the issue has become a political hot potato, with gas company chiefs twice called to Canberra for meetings with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and energy minister Josh Frydenberg.
 
On the other side of the Nullarbor, Western Australia is blessed with enormous reserves, many of them as yet undeveloped.   
 
Western Australia now produces LNG at Karratha, Pluto, Gorgon and Wheatstone and soon Prelude will produce from its floating facility moored off the Kimberley coast.
 
So with abundant resources, and challenges up and down the eastern seaboard, can Western Australia's gas be the answer?
