Alinta may have pulled the coup of the year with the ACCC allowing the company’s belated bid for the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline (DBNGP) to go ahead. After agreeing to measures designed to separate its gas reticulation business from the proposed stake in the DBNGP, Alinta’s conditional $1.8 million bid has pushed it and partners Alcoa and DUET (Diversified Utility & Energy Trusts) ahead as favourite to win control of the beleaguered pipeline.
