NEW Chinese pollution and energy regulations now have one of the single biggest material impacts on energy demand globally, and regulations from the transport ministry on sulphur emissions from the vast shipping sector will have effects on fuel and bunkering moves in China in years to come, according to a note from Wood Mackenzie analyst Yujiao Lei.

But possibly disappointingly for Woodside Petroleum and Perth's LNG Marine Fuel Institute is a lack of any mention of increased LNG as a marine fuel, given the far lower sulphur emissions it offers.
