LNG import is "urgently" needed: EnergyQuest

CONSULTANCY firm EnergyQuest has picked a horse in the east coast gas supply issue and backed LNG import terminals, suggesting they are needed to counter 'critical' gas shortages in the east coast states in a report released today that looks at the east coast gas market to 2036.

It suggests shortages are expected begin in 2022, worsen by 2026 and cannot be propped up by endless supplies from Queensland's overstretched CSG fields.    There are currently five LNG import terminals...
