US exports of LNG have been growing steadily and reached a new peak of 4.7 billion cubic feet per day in May this year according to the US Department of Energy, with the US becoming the world’s third largest LNG exporter behind Australia and Qatar, averaging 4.2Bcfd in the first five months of the year.

 The US Energy Information Administration noted that US LNG exports have surged as four new liquefaction trains with a combined capacity of 2.4Bcfd came online since November last year.
