Chevron posts largest quarterly loss in decade

CHEVRON Corporation has posted its highest loss in a decade at US$6.6 billion, much of it from impairments and write downs it had already flagged worth a combined $10.4 billion.

    These were largely related to its Appalachian shale footprint and some deepwater projects in the US Gulf of Mexico as well as generally lower prices for both oil and gas, with prices for the quarter...
