A FULL second wave of infections globally hasn’t taken hold yet but clusters of cases and lack of confidence are keeping oil demand low, and traffic data from Apple, sourced by ANZ, finds demand for gasoline remained depressed in the US during its traditional peak summer driving season.

This may seem immaterial in global terms but the US accounts for 10% of crude demand and July is the most heavily travelled month of the year.
