Representatives from the Australian Workers' Union, Ampol's Lytton refinery and Viva Energy's Geelong facility met with the government, opposition, and independent MPs yesterday.
UNION heavyweights arrived in Canberra this week lobbying federal parliamentarians to introduce an emergency financial package for the refining industry, and have apparently had some luck, with federal energy minister Angus Taylor expected to make an announcement in a matter of days.
