OIL Search is battening down the hatches after a bruising year despite recovering from 2018’s devastating earthquake in Papua New Guinea, and plans to build its resilience to lower and more uncertain commodity prices. In short, it expects conditions to stay tough this year.

It is currently planning to enter front end engineering and development at the US$3 billion Alaskan Pikka Unit oil project it shares with Repsol in coming months but still plans to farm down a portion
