ConocoPhillips seeks approval to decommission Bayu-Undan pipeline

WITH the Bayu-Undan gas field approaching the end of its commercially productive life, ConocoPhillips has lodged an application with regulator, the National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority, to cease production from its Darwin Gas Export Pipeline.

ConocoPhillips is the operator of the 502km Darwin Gas Export Pipeline in the Timor Sea which transports gas from the Bayu-Undan field to the Darwin LNG plant in the Northern Territory.
