Oil Search drilling ahead in Egypt, PNG

OIL Search has spudded its first exploration well in the Wadi Dara exploration concession in Egyp...

The West Zeit-X1 well, which has a planned depth of 1613m, is drilling ahead at a depth of 110m.

Oil Search has a 100% interest in Wadi Dara in Block A.

Meanwhile, the company's Raheek-1 well is at a depth of 3355m.

Raheek is targeting the Bahariya and Kharita formations that were found to be oil-bearing in Rana-1.

The participants in Raheek-1 are: Sipetrol International 50.5% (operator) and Oil Search 49.5%.

Meanwhile in PNG, Oil Search is also drilling the Arakubi-1A sidetrack and Korobosea-1 exploration well.

Arakubi has reached a depth of 2576m, close to the planned total depth of 2670m while Korobosea is currently at 301m out of a planned 2182m depth.

Participants in Arakubi-1A are: Oil Search 60%, ExxonMobil 14.5%, AGL 11.9%, Merlin Petroleum 6.8% and Petroleum Resources (Kutubu) 6.8%. Oil Search has a 90% interest in Korobosea-1 while the remaining 10% is held by Gedd PNG.
