Veto threat looms

A RESUMPTION of US oil exports still face White House opposition after the country's House of Representatives voted to lift the 40-year-old ban on Friday, but not by a big enough margin that would over-ride a presidential veto.

The White House believes the bill is "not needed at this time" and energy secretary Ernest Moniz cited studies to Congress last week projecting that the impacting of lifting the ban would be minimal.
