Wind moratorium call

WEST Australian Senator Chris Back has called for a moratorium on new wind farms, and for the stripping of all subsidies for wind energy generators until the Productivity Commission conducts a cost-benefit analysis of the effect the industry has on the National Electricity Market and retail electricity costs.

Back, who is at risk of losing his seat once the Senate counting is complete after a 2.3% swing away from the ALP, has described the South Australia's power crisis as a "wake-up call" for other states....
