Victorian default offer legislation passed 

THE Victorian Daniel Andrews-led Labor government has passed its controversial legislation to establish a state-wide Default Offer, abolishing standing offers and requiring energy retailers to offer a "fairer price" to consumers.

The new law will empower the Victorian Essential Services Commission to determine a benchmark "fair price" and work with retailers to enforce it.    From July 1, more than 190,000 Victorian households...
