Victoria to exit from AEMC to 'secure its own energy future'

VICTORIAN energy minister Lily D’Ambrosio has declared the state will “go it alone”, requesting an exemption from the Australian Energy Market Commission to allow it to negotiate for longer-term deals for emergency back-up power supply contracts.

In a statement released today D'Ambrosio said the National Energy Rules were no longer fit for purpose and the federal government had failed to address the issue.
