WA-federal proposal that could slash approval times

WITH the Browse and Scarborough projects in mind, Western Australian premier Mark McGowan has called on prime minister Scott Morrison to sign off on an Environmental Approvals Bilateral Agreement that could slash up to six months from major resources projects approvals in the state.

Under the proposed EABA, WA authorities will be accredited to conduct the assessment and issue a single approval, slashing about six months from approvals on major projects.
