A STORM on Friday damaged transmission lines owned by AusNet near the Heywood interconnector on the Victorian side of the border, cutting South Australia off from the National Electricity Market for up to a fortnight.

Interconnector damage to take fortnight to fix

The storm caused around 14,000 power outages across Victoria, Jemena reported localised outages in multiple Melbourne suburbs largely in the inner and middle west of the city.
