US climate envoy Kerry dampens African gas hopes

US climate envoy John Kerry cautioned against investing in long-term gas projects in Africa as countries in the region gear up to tap recent oil and gas discoveries, while also wrestling with how to power their development with clean energy, a Reuters report said on Friday.
