INDEPENDENT federal MP Kate Chaney has called on the Albanese government to introduce a short-term super profits tax on oil and gas companies to help Australia’s most vulnerable pay their energy bills.
Chaney's comments came days after treasurer Jim Chalmers said he hoped to bring down energy prices across the east coast by Christmas.
