WA utility Western Power is getting slammed again. After having its two top executives sacked early this year, the State’s Energy Safety watchdog said poor maintenance and a flawed, city-focussed strategy - not the weather - were the cause of more than 80 poletop fires this week, one which narrowly averted turning into an uncontrolled bushfire just north of Perth.
