Oil holds its ground

OIL remained relatively steady ahead of the US Thanksgiving holiday, trading above $US77 a barrel after rising Wednesday on the back of a weaker US dollar and a lower-than-expected drop in US crude inventories.

New York's Western Texas Intermediate rose $US2.10 to settle at $US77.96 on Wednesday after the dollar dropped to a 15-month low against a range of currencies.
