Oil takes flight

OIL prices rebounded last night following a positive lead from Wall Street and some European flights resuming, restoring demand for jet fuel six days after a volcanic eruption in Iceland stymied air travel across the continent.

New York’s Western Texas Intermediate rose US89c to settle at $US84 a barrel while Singapore’s Tapis was stronger at $US1.25 to close at $US86.75/bbl.
