Honeywell lands Indonesian contract

Honeywell has won a major automation contract for the Conoco's Belanak FPSO, in the West Natuna Sea. The contract is valued at $US14.5 million.

Honeywell will develop an integrated topsides-and-marine automation system for the grassroots FPSO facility, the Belanak Natuna, and two wellhead platforms. Honeywell is contracting directly with Kellogg, Brown & Root in Singapore on the FPSO portion of the project, and with J. Ray McDermott in Jakarta on the wellhead platforms.

It will provide project management, engineering, configuration, and testing for the process control, process shutdown, fire and gas/emergency shutdown, and marine systems via a project team centrally located in Singapore. It is also providing installation, commissioning, and start-up support for the FPSO and wellhead installations. Project work is already underway with first production expected in the third quarter of 2004.
