Technip-Coflexip wins big in GoM, Brunei and Holland

French-based engineering group, Technip-Coflexip has won a number of large contracts across the globe in the last week.

1. In the Gulf of Mexico contract, Atlantia Offshore Ltd awarded a Technip-Coflexip business unit, Gulf Marine Fabricators (GMF), a fabrication contract for the Matterhorn dry-tree Tension Leg Platform (TLP) topsides facility and foundation piles.The work scope includes procurement, fabrication and outfitting of a 6000-ton topsides facility, which will have a height of 18.9 metres and an area of approximately 5900 square .m. GMF will perform this work at its North Yard located in Texas. The topsides work will commence the first quarter of 2002 with completion in May 2003. The pile work is also scheduled to start during the first quarter of 2002 with a completion date in July 2002.

2. In the Asian sultanate, Brunei Shell Petroleum Co (BSP) awarded Technip-Coflexip a big gas field development contract. The $US22 million contract will be for project management, engineering, procurement and fabrication of BSP's offshore Egret Phase 1 Gas Development Project. Technip Far East will do much of the work in Kuala Lumpur East, in conjunction with Technip Engineering Brunei. Completion is scheduled for fourth quarter 2003.

3. In the Netherlands, Total Raffinaderij Netherlands N.V awarded Technip-Coflexip an engineering services contract for the modification of its hydrogen plant in order to increase capacity to meet hydrocracker requirements. Under the terms of the contract, Technip-Coflexip will provide engineering and procurement services as well as manage the construction and maintenance works during the 2002 shutdown of the plant.
